Broadcast Notes

Review

Imposter Syndrome is a confidence issue. Can only be in certain areas of life & not overall.

Confidence= Confidence means feeling sure of yourself and your abilities — not in an arrogant way, but in a realistic, secure way. Confidence isn't about feeling superior to others. It's a quiet inner knowledge that you're capable. Confident people: ... feel ready for everyday challenges like tests, performances, and competitions (1.).

·      You can be confident in certain areas and not in others

·      Lack of confidence is rooted in self-doubt

·      Thoughts of self-doubt comes from the enemy Why? Our security should come from God…. We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14)

·      Practice Thought Stopping (2 Cor 10:5)

How to Combat Imposter Syndrome

·      Word of God

·      Presence of God

·      Prayer (Renounce/release strongholds and/or deliverance)

o   Therapy to deal with deep wounds

·      Continual growth & development in God and your area of expertise

What is stopping your execution?

Execution= the carrying out or putting into effect of a plan, order, or course of action (2.) https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/execution

You can experience fear of failure as:

·      Not wanting to try something new or things that might feel like a challenge

o   Being out of your comfort zone

o   Afraid to take calculated risks

·      Self-Sabotage

o   Excessive Anxiety

o   Low-self-esteem or confidence (i.e. Imposter Syndrome)

o   Critical inner dialogue

o   Letting these self-destructive behaviors become habits which undermine what God is trying to do in our life. You are in control instead of God.

o

·      Perfectionism

o   You will not step out unless it is perfect, or you know you will be successful

Please locate yourself….
